Winter Speed Skating
For the winter of 2009, Sylvan Lake will boast a 5 km Speed Skating Track that
will attract speed skating enthusiasts from all over the world. This year local
residents and visitors took advantage of a 1 km demo track that was used to
encourage all skaters (hockey, figure and speed) to participate and get involved
with the sport. The natural ice track has brought enthusiasts from all over the
province as we are watching the sport become increasingly popular within our
community.
